Just Words tests your ability to come up with words. In each game, the skill will extract a letter of the alphabet, and will challenge you to find a word starting with that letter, for each of the five categories:
You will receive one point for each letter that makes up the correct word that came to your mind. If this is your first time using this word, the points are worth double! The accumulated points will be used to climb the weekly ranking. If you’re in first, second or third place at the end of the week, you’ll win “bonus” words, which you can use when you need a hint. The prizes you can save by playing are:
All players ranked in the top three, even if tied, win the suggestion words. You can use hints when you get stuck: if you can’t think of any word while playing, you can ask “Alexa, give me a hint”, and the skill will find a word for you. The skill allows you to play as many games as you want every day, without limits. Every day you will get two free tips to use, which will add up the ones you’ve won (placing yourself in the top three in the ranking), or that you have purchased. With the multiplayer mode you can challenge your friends and family! To play with other people, you need to be in the same room, and all would have to speak to the same device (from Amazon’s Echo series or other devices that allow you to use Alexa). The skill will ask the name of each one of you, and decide the order of play. It will be fun to wait for your turn, hoping that the player before you doesn’t steal the word you were thinking of! To play and have fun much longer, you can buy packs of:
The packages do not expire and you can use the tips as and when you like. You will also be able to join the “Word Club”, which is an additional, paid service with a monthly subscription. Being part of the “Word Club” will allow you to:
Access to the “Word Club” is based on a monthly subscription, with automatic renewal. Before making the payment, however, you can take advantage of a free trial week. Unsubscribing is also very easy and you can do it at any time:
Examples of phrases that you can use: “Alexa, open Just Words” “Alexa, ask Just Words for the rules ” “Alexa, ask Just Words how many suggestions I have” “Alexa, ask Just Words for help” This is an example of how a match will go: The skill will extract a letter of the alphabet and say it to you, for example the letter “A”. Alexa will then ask you to say the name of an animal starting with the letter A. You can answer immediately, or ask for more time. If you can’t think of any animals with A, you can say “pass” or say “give me a hint”. If you pass, you move on to the next category without earning points. If you can answer with a correct word, for example “alligator”, you will earn 9 points, or 18 points if this is the first time you use this word. Have fun!
